The hotel is mere steps away from the Amsterdam Historical Museum, the reclusive courtyard of the Begijnhof, and a few blocks further is the city's central square, the Dam, with the National Monument, the Royal Palace and Madame Tussaud's, as well as the major pedestrian shopping streets, Kalverstraat and Nieuwendijk. Wandering further east takes you to Amsterdam's famed Red Light District, while walking toward the west takes you across the historic ring of four inner canals (the hotel is located on the oldest of the four), with the Anne Frank House located on the Prinsengracht canal. A stroll along these canals is a visual feast, with the characteristic gables of 17th century houses reflected in the tree-lined waterways.
